Pledge of the Day: Amy Pritchard

Amy Pritchard
Pledge: $5.00
Amy is a Social Media Strategist from Gassaway, West Virginia. Her business, AllowME offers affordable social media marketing and web and fan page design for small businesses.

HamletEug2Ed: What excites you about The Edinburgh Hamlet Project?
Amy: I love the arts. We have a strong arts community in my county and whenever possible I attend our local theater, The Landmark. I think The Edinburgh Hamlet Project is wonderful. Providing young people the opportunity to expand their horizons and travel to other places is fundamental to a well rounded education. Any project that embraces that concept has my full support.

HamletEug2Ed: What inspires you?
Amy: Thinking outside the box to give children as many avenues to learn is what inspires me most.

HamletEug2Ed: What is one personal project you're currently involved in?
Amy: We currently are battling our county’s Board of Education and their decisions on our facilities and programs. They are trying to de-consolidate our middles school and making curriculum changes that are going to eliminate opportunities such as band, chorus, music, theater, sports, just to name a few away from our kids. We have formed an organization called Braxton County Kid's First to raise funds for our attorney fees to file an injunction to stop our BOE from proceeding.

Pledge of the Day: Megan Lee Joy

Megan Lee Joy
Pledge: $10.00
Megan graduated from the University of Oregon and is now an actor in LA, which consists of a lot of reading, studying, and waiting. Her life is filled with last minute auditions, sometimes a lot, sometimes not and sometimes she even book them, and gets to work... as an actor!

HamletEug2Ed: What excites you about The Edinburgh Hamlet Project?
Megan: How amazing everybody is! Everyone involved is right out of college, if not still in college and they are kicking butts and taking names! To have the drive and initiative right out of school, especially in this economy and for this generation, is amazing. They deserve to go abroad and show the world their ambition! Also, the idea is so innovative. To mix live actors with film and throw Hamlet in for them to tackle alongside this mixed media brilliance is sheer creativity at its best!

HamletEug2Ed: Are you involved in the performing arts yourself?
Megan: Yes I am! It is my life, blood, passion and daily routine.

HamletEug2Ed: What inspires you?
Megan: YOU! People like you! People who love what they do, work hard at it and WANT it. That inspires me every single time I come across it and gives me that push! I see their passion and it fuels my own.

HamletEug2Ed: What is one personal project you're currently involved in?
Megan: I am very excited about this ridiculous little webisode I made with friends to make me SAG eligible as an actor. I am almost done editing it and it will make you vomit or hit someone and hopefully laugh too.

Click here to check out the webisode (Will be posted soon)!

Pledge of the Day: Erika Leaf

Erika Leaf
Pledge: $15.00
Erika is the co-owner of Imagine Group, a sign and graphics business in Eugene. She heard about the Edinburgh Hamlet Project from a comment made on the business’s Facebook page.

HamletEug2Ed: What excites you about The Edinburgh Hamlet Project?
Erika: I am not involved directly in the arts myself, but I love to support students in having amazing adventures and formative experiences before they settle down into a stage in their lives when it's harder to do these sorts of things. And I love that this project brings art to people in other places. It isn't just enriching for the members of the student production company who get to go. It's a gift to the Edinburgh community too. Ya gotta love a win-win like this. Plus the high tech social media way of contributing was fun to try out. Good luck Rebecca and crew!

Imagine Group makes their clients look fabulous with exquisite photography, gorgeous graphics and fantastic vehicle wraps. In addition, this Eugene business is incredibly active within the local community and supporting non-profits.
